Audience Praise for Opera51 Productions
Comments received from Turandot attendees match the palpable audience enthusiasm felt in the hall:
"Congrats on a splendid, compelling production of Turandot! The Princess and Calaf were first rate, the 3 Ps delightful, and the rest of the cast and orchestra fully up to the task. The semi-staging and use of the space and its features were totally convincing. Two months ago we went to New York to see the Met’s luscious Zeffirelli production before it is retired. In all sincerity, we enjoyed Opera51’s production just as much and in some respects even more."
"My wife and I went to Friday night’s performance. We had no expectations, but it was GREAT! We were really impressed with the quality of the singing and the orchestra. We are very used to the Met’s Zeffirrelli production, but the intimacy of Opera51 allowed us to focus more on the music and not the grandiosity."
Fundraisers for 51 Walden
Opera51 performances are benefit fundraisers to support operation of The Performing Arts Center at 51 Walden. Almost all performers and staff are either unpaid or paid small stipends. Proceeds contribute valuable funds to the maintenance and operation of the facility, a community resource supporting hundreds of local residents each week throughout the year.
Significant funds for 51 Walden are raised each year by Opera51 through ticket sales, individual donations, program ads, corporate sponsorships, and through special events like Opera Favorites.
Donations to support 51 Walden can be made directly here, by sending a check payable to "51 Walden" to P O Box 251, Concord, MA 01742, or by calling 978-369-7911. 51 Walden is a 501(c)3 organization.
